Pina Earth's Sustainability Report 2024

For the third time, we are publishing our own sustainability report – a crucial step to make our mission tangible and reflect on our impact.
We released our first sustainability report for the year 2022. Since then, a lot has happened. Our current report for 2024 shows: our impact is growing – and so is our responsibility.

2024 Highlights: More Projects, More Impact

Over the past year, we financed forest adaptation measures on more than 5.5 million square meters – nearly double the area from the previous year.
We’re especially proud of the first certifications of our projects under the German Forest Climate Standard (WKS). This sets new benchmarks for quality and transparency in Germany’s voluntary carbon market.

Our project portfolio grew from 4 to 12 climate protection projects, ranging from Schleswig-Holstein to Bavaria. This enables our partners to create visible, local impact right here in Germany.

An Award-Winning Year – Digital Start-Up of the Year 2024

One of our proudest moments: We were named “Digital Start-Up of the Year 2024” by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
This recognition honors our work and confirms our innovative, tech-based approach to protecting regional forests.

Sustainability at Pina Earth: Responsibility at Every Level

We’re also pushing sustainability forward within our own organization:

• Expanding collaboration with forest owners: In 2024, we developed eight new projects with local forest owners. Close cooperation ensures that our projects are long-term and aligned with the needs of local ecosystems.
• Increasing transparency for customers: Our forest dashboard was further enhanced to provide more data, insights, and storytelling opportunities. New project videos offer a fresh look into the projects and the partners involved.
• Reducing and offsetting emissions: Each year, we calculate our company’s carbon footprint. In addition to reduction efforts, we invest in climate protection projects to offset the emissions we generate as a business.

Outlook 2025: Rethinking Regional Climate Action

We have ambitious plans for 2025: More projects in high-need regions, a growing network of partners, and even greater impact.
Our goal remains clear: to advance global climate protection with local forests – scalable, measurable, and transparent.
